Verdelho is a white grape of the Portuguese Atlantic islands, Madeira and the Azores, and is not the same as Spain's Verdejo. On Madeira it gives the medium-dry style of Madeira wine, with high acidity and notes of citrus and nuts. In the Azores, and elsewhere, it also makes dry whites with fresh acidity, citrus and a saline edge.
