Malagousia, also spelled Malagouzia, is an aromatic white grape from western Greece that was saved from near extinction and is now planted across the country. It gives medium to full-bodied wines with moderate acidity and a perfume of peach, citrus, jasmine and fresh herbs. Most wines are made dry and drunk young, though some take well to a short time on lees or in oak.
