Sauvignon Blanc comes from western France, where it is the grape of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé in the Loire and is blended with Sémillon in Bordeaux. It gives crisp, high-acid wines with aromas of citrus, green apple, cut grass and, in warmer places, tropical fruit. Most are made to be drunk young and fresh.
