Kotsifali is a native red grape of Crete, grown mainly in the central part of the island. It gives soft, round wines with fairly high alcohol, gentle tannins and aromas of red fruit and spice, but only moderate color. For that reason it is traditionally blended with Mandilaria, which adds color and tannin.
