Mandilaria

Mandilaria is a red grape of the Aegean islands, grown on Crete, Rhodes, Paros and Santorini. It gives very deep color and firm tannins but fairly low alcohol, so it is most often blended, for example with Kotsifali on Crete. On Paros it is traditionally blended with the white Monemvasia.
